School Offers Free Education, Hostel To Pandemic-Orphaned Kids

The nastiest onslaught of pandemic has brought the entire world to a grinding halt rendering million jobless. The worst has befallen those who lost their breadwinners; particularly growing kids, before they can comprehend the intricacies of life, have lost their parents to the virus.

There are many people stepping forward to help many in need barring some celebrating catastrophes by lining their pockets with money from the victims. Many have fallen prey to the sinister design of the vultures scavenging from the people breathing their last. In these fragile times, a senior secondary school at Faridabad’s Bhupani has been contributing to providing the deprived lots with food and other paraphernalia needed to combat the deadly infection.

This year Satyug  Darshan school has announced an initiative ‘ Ummeed ek asha ki kiran’. “We will provide free boarding or day-boarding education for those meritorious children, who either have lost their parents or guardians to COVID-19 or their family income is impacted due to the pandemic.”  Neeraj Mohan Puri, the school principal, averred. 

This project ensures free education and hostel facility for the deprived students from grades 6 to 12. The school will verify the eligibility of the students; the students must pass an exam to get a berth under this project.

Furthermore, Puri laid emphasis on three different criteria that will select the students: Firstly, students who secure ranks from 1 to 12 in this exam will qualify for the selection. Secondly, students who wish to be a part of the initiative must have a good academic track record in the last two years and lastly, the cause of the students’ weak economic background ought to pertain to COVID-19.

“We shall admit 20 students who meet the aforementioned requirements and the Managing Committee will finalize the decision thereafter,” Puri concluded saying.
