The police of PS Shakarpur arrested two cheats identified as Parul Jawa 25 years and Naresh Kumar 37 years.
The complainant Madhu Jha stated in her complaint that she had gone to a placement agency Global Air Aviation at D-30, Madhuban Road, Shakarpur for an interview for the post of ticketing and passenger handling executive where she met the HR Head and some other employees.
They initially demanded rupees 6500 from her on the pretext of providing her with a job and promised that the amount given would be refunded to her after she received her first salary. The complainant agreed to pay the amount. However, later on, the agency again demanded rupees 8000 from her and once again the agency demanded more money from the complainant.
The complainant Jha grew suspicious and visited the above address again but found the office missing. During the enquiry, the police discovered several other victims fallen prey to this cheating. The police learnt that they duped job aspirants of money in the name of giving them a job. They would change their offices to evade arrest once their target was met. The police also learnt about their new office in Sector-63, Noida.
The police swung into action, a team comprising SI Mahesh and constables Navin and Vikrant was constituted and one decoy customer was sent to the Noida office just to verify the address and corroborate the facts. After the information was verified, a raid was conducted and the police nabbed two accused Parul and Naresh.
The police have registered the case under relevant sections and further investigation is in progress. More arrests are likely soon, the police said. The modus operandi employed by the racketeers was that they used to share the advertisement links through various social media platforms inducing the aspirants in need of a job. On being contacted, they used to call the aspirants for an interview and demand money on various pretexts. They used to dupe the aspirants and shift to some other place after some time.
