IMWA defeat British High Commission by 81 runs, enter semifinals Chirag and Shivam launch a blitzkrieg

In the ongoing Diplomatic Cup organised by Ministry of External Affairs GoI, IMWA (Indian Media Welfare Association) led by Rajiv Nishana defeated British High Commission by 81 runs in the final league match and entered last four.

Commission won the toss and elected to bowl first. Chirag Gothi 68 off 50 and Shivam Tripathi 50 off 38 opened the innings and played long shots in style on the batting track of Talkatora Grounds,New Delhi. Both the batsmen went on the rampage and made a mammoth total of 162 runs for 5 wickets in stipulated 20 overs . Rajesh Mehta scored a quick knock of 24 off 21 balls. Atul bowled a deadly spell and bagged 4 wickets.

Replying to the total, British High Commission miserably failed to keep the momentum and collapsed at 81 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs.

Anthony 16 and Pawan 16 were the highest scorers for the Commission.
Shivam was adjudged man of the match and Gothi was declared the best batsman of the match.
Shivam and Vratik took 3 wickets each conceding 9 and 12 runs respectively in their quota of 4 overs.
Atul from the Commission was given the best fighter player award.
