No Need for Alarm: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Addresses Rising COVID-19 Cases

New Delhi: In response to the recent uptick in COVID-19 cases, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reassured the public on Monday that there is no cause for alarm. She emphasized that the city’s hospitals are fully equipped to manage any potential increase in cases.

Current official data indicates that Delhi has recorded 104 cases of the resurgent virus. Speaking to reporters at an event, Gupta stated, “We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation. Our hospitals are well-prepared with all necessary facilities, and we have issued an advisory to keep the public informed.” She further noted, “After analyzing the current scenario, we can confirm that there is no need for panic.”

On Friday, Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Singh reported that 23 COVID-19 cases had been identified as of Thursday. He mentioned that the government is in the process of verifying whether the infected individuals are residents of Delhi and if they have traveled outside the city recently.

Singh reassured the public that the cases were reported by private laboratories and reiterated that there is no need for concern, as the variant currently circulating exhibits symptoms similar to those of a typical influenza.
