Municipal Corporation of Delhi Celebrates 150 Years of ‘Vande Mataram’ with Collective Recitation

New Delhi: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Monday commemorated 150 years of the iconic national song Vande Mataram with a solemn and patriotic event at its headquarters. Staff members from various departments gathered at the Kedarnath Sahni Auditorium, where a collective recitation of Vande Mataram was held, reflecting a strong sense of unity and national pride.

The programme was led by MCD Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar, along with senior officials of the civic body, who participated in the recitation alongside employees. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with officials and staff joining in unison to honour the historic legacy of the national song.

Described as a moment of collective pride, the gathering underscored the spirit of patriotism and institutional unity within the civic body. Officials stated that such initiatives help reinforce a shared sense of purpose and national identity among employees, while also commemorating milestones of historical and cultural significance.
