New Delhi, July 5: Delhi Police has solved the murder of a 20-year-old man, Touheed, within 18 hours of the crime, arresting three accused who allegedly killed him to avenge an earlier altercation in which the victim had slapped one of them.
According to police, the incident took place in the New Usmanpur area of North-East Delhi. Preliminary investigation revealed that Touheed had previously been involved in a dispute with the accused, during which he allegedly slapped one of them and threatened another.
Police said the accused allegedly decided to take revenge and hatched a conspiracy to eliminate Touheed. As part of the plan, they allegedly lured him to a nearby park, where they attacked him with a knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds that proved fatal.
Acting swiftly, a team from New Usmanpur Police Station launched an intensive investigation and succeeded in solving the case within 18 hours.
Police arrested the three accused, identified as Shah Nawaz, Noor Hasan, and Anas. The knife allegedly used in the murder has also been recovered.
During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to their involvement in the crime and disclosed that the murder was carried out to avenge the earlier humiliation.
Delhi Police said further investigation is underway to establish the complete sequence of events and gather additional evidence in the case.
