NEW DELHI: Following the arrest for the stabbing of a 17-year-old in Northeast Delhi’s Seelampur, the alleged ‘mastermind’ known as ‘Lady Don’ has been sent to police custody. The 22-year-old key accused is said to be a part of the Mastan gang, led by Shoib Mastan, who is currently in jail for a robbery case.
The victim, a 17-year-old boy, was attacked while on his way to buy milk near his home in Seelampur, allegedly as an act of revenge. The incident caused tensions in the area, leading to increased security measures by the police.
Zikra, who goes by the name ‘Lady Don’, has been placed in police custody for two days for her alleged involvement in the murder. She is a mother of a two-year-old and does not live with her husband. Zikra was recently released after being accused of brandishing an illegal firearm on social media. She used to create videos on her Instagram profile under the name ‘Sher ki Sherni’, according to police.
The investigation has revealed that Zikra and another individual named Sahil, who live in the same area, conspired to commit the murder. They also reportedly threatened the victim and his family members. Statements from witnesses have been recorded to support these claims, as stated in the police’s remand papers submitted to the court.
“After conducting a search, one of the accused individuals, Zikra, was apprehended in connection with the case. Following questioning, she was arrested before sunset on Friday. The grounds for her arrest have been clearly communicated to her. Zikra is believed to be the mastermind behind the murder, while her co-accused Sahil and his friends remain at large, evading arrest after committing the crime. Unfortunately, Zikra is not cooperating with the investigation,” stated the remand papers.
The victim, a 17-year-old boy, was attacked while on his way to buy milk near his home in Seelampur. He was targeted by the accused as an act of revenge. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he tragically succumbed to his injuries. The police have determined that the murder was motivated by personal enmity and a power struggle between rival groups in the area.
Furthermore, authorities are looking into Zikra’s connection with Zoya Khan, the wife of incarcerated gangster Hashim Baba. Zoya herself was arrested in February for her alleged involvement in the murders of a businessman and a gym owner.”
