155 Cases in 3 Months: Meet Delhi Head Constable Sanjay Vashist, Setting a New Benchmark in Police Investigation

New Delhi: In an extraordinary display of efficiency and dedication, Head Constable Sanjay Vashist of Outer North District Police has been declared the “Best Investigating Officer” after disposing of a remarkable 155 cases in just the first quarter of 2026 — a feat that has set a new benchmark within the Delhi Police.

The recognition was conferred during a district-level review meeting of the Investigation Wing, where performance from January to March 2026 was thoroughly evaluated. The honour was presented by Hareshwar Swami, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Outer North District, New Delhi, who felicitated the awardees for their outstanding contributions.

HC Sanjay Vashist (No. 2414/OND), posted at PS Samaypur Badli, emerged as the top performer among a large pool of investigating officers across multiple police stations including Bawana, Narela, Shahbad Dairy, Narela Industrial Area, Alipur, Swaroop Nagar, and Bhalswa Dairy. His achievement stands out for both the volume and speed of case disposal, reflecting strong investigative rigor and commitment to timely justice delivery.

During the review, several officers were assessed, including SI Sumit and SI Krishan (PS Bawana), ASI Inder and HC Satish (PS Shahbad Dairy), HC Ravinder and HC Sombir (PS Narela), HC Piplad and HC Upender (PS NIA), HC Ashish and HC Pritam (PS Alipur), HC Karamjeet and HC Sanjay Vashist (PS SP Badli), HC Sandeep and Shaitan (PS Swaroop Nagar), and ASI Narender and HC Teenu (PS Bhalswa Dairy). Among them, HC Sanjay Vashist was officially declared the Best Investigating Officer.

In the same review, Inspector Shailender Singh Jhaakhar was awarded “Best SHO” for achieving the highest case disposal rate, while ACP Rakesh Kumar (Sub-Division Samaypur Badli) was recognised for leading the best-performing subdivision in terms of case disposal.

Commending the achievement, DCP Hareshwar Swami stated, “The integrity and speed of investigations are the pillars of public trust. HC Sanjay Vashist’s ability to resolve 155 cases in a single quarter sets a benchmark for the entire Investigation Wing. His dedication reflects the professional excellence we strive for in Outer North District.”

The meeting was attended by investigating officers, SHOs, inspectors, and ACPs from key sub-divisions including Bawana, Narela, Samaypur Badli, and Swaroop Nagar. The primary focus of the session was to evaluate case disposal rates and strengthen investigative efficiency across the district.

This recognition highlights the Outer North District Police’s commitment to professional policing, timely case resolution, and strengthening public trust. Under the leadership of Joint Commissioner of Police Vijay Singh, IPS (Northern Range), the district continues to focus on improving investigation standards and ensuring community safety through evidence-based policing.
