Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Pays Tribute to Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Reaffirms Commitment to National Unity and Governance

Date:

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with Cabinet Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and dedicated party workers, paid floral tributes to Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee (Mukherjee) at the park named after him in the national capital on Sunday. The ceremony commemorated Mookerjee’s supreme sacrifice for the unity and integrity of India.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan attended the event as the chief guest, while Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva presided over the proceedings.

CM Gupta highlighted Dr. Mookerjee’s legacy as a symbol of unwavering courage, nationalistic vision, and sacrifice for an undivided India. Referring to his iconic slogan — “Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan” (One Constitution, One Flag, One Leader) — she emphasized its relevance in India’s fight for national integration, particularly in the context of Article 370, which once accorded special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

“Dr. Mookerjee believed the Indian Constitution should apply equally to every Indian state. His martyrdom was a stand for constitutional uniformity and national sovereignty,” said CM Rekha Gupta.

She added that her government remains firmly committed to the ideals of good governance, national pride, and public service, in line with Dr. Mookerjee’s vision. “Walking the path he showed is the truest tribute we can offer. Our mission is to build a strong, prosperous, and unified India,” Gupta said.

The tribute comes at a time when the BJP continues to reinforce the importance of national unity, the revocation of Article 370, and constitutional uniformity across states as central pillars of its political narrative.
