Old RTR Flyover traffic diverted to service road
The entire traffic on the affected Airport/Gurugram-to-Vasant Vihar carriageway has been diverted onto the adjoining service road. Long queues are being observed along the stretch, according to the advisory.
The police warning concerns the Old RTR Flyover and the specified direction of travel. The advisory does not announce a fixed reopening date.
Dhaula Kuan and Delhi Cantt routes may also be busy
With motorists taking alternative routes via NH-48 towards Dhaula Kuan and through Delhi Cantonment, heavy traffic is expected on both carriageways at Dhaula Kuan and on various roads in the Cantonment area, particularly during peak hours.
Travellers should factor the diversion and possible congestion into their journeys rather than assume that an alternative route will be free of traffic.
Allow extra time and follow traffic staff
Delhi Traffic Police advised commuters to use alternative routes, allow additional travel time and follow instructions from personnel deployed on the road.
The traffic police helpline listed in the advisory is 1095.
