New Delhi: Two men declared proclaimed offenders in a 2016 case registered at Narela police station have been apprehended by the Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) of Delhi Police’s Outer North District, police said.
The men were identified as Jitender, 35, a resident of Chaproli in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district, and Deepak, 29, a resident of Pana Paposiya in Narela, Delhi.
According to police, both had been declared proclaimed offenders by a court in the same case, registered under Sections 392, 411 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. Police said they had been evading arrest.
Technical surveillance backed by field verification
The AATS team combined technical surveillance and digital intelligence with extensive field verification and information gathered on the ground to trace the two men, the police statement said.
Police reported one previous involvement for Jitender and four for Deepak. The statement did not provide the outcomes of those cases.
AATS team carried out the operation
The operation was carried out by ASI Sandeep, Head Constable Abhishek Khatri and Constable Manish, under Inspector Anand Kumar Jha, the officer in charge of AATS, Outer North District.
The team worked under the supervision of ACP Operations Dinesh Kumar and the guidance of Additional DCP-I Lokeshwaran R, in line with directions from Joint Commissioner of Police, Northern Range, Vijay Singh.
