NEW DELHI: Delhi Police’s Crime Branch said it had arrested two accused in a case involving an alleged demand for Rs 3 crore from a businessman, with the racket allegedly operating in the name of Kapil Sangwan, alias Nandu.

In a post on X, the Crime Branch said the businessman had allegedly been threatened with serious consequences if he did not pay. The case was registered at Bindapur police station, according to the post.
Police also claimed to have foiled a firing plan. Shooters were allegedly being arranged to target victims’ homes and business premises to create fear and force payment, the agency said.
The Crime Branch attributed the arrests to its Anti-Gang Squad. It said the operation was led by Inspector Krishan Kumar under ACP Bhagwati Prasad and the supervision of DCP Harsh Indora.
