NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the birth centenary year of Ashok Singhal at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on September 27, 2026, according to a statement posted by the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) on X.

The ceremony was organised by the VHP and the Ashok Singhal Foundation. Shah, who attended as chief guest, urged young people to draw inspiration from Singhal’s life and his work for society and India’s cultural heritage, the statement said.
According to the VHP, Shah recalled Singhal’s contribution to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and said the centenary celebrations would help introduce his ideals and contributions to younger generations.
The programme included the release of the coffee table book Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram Ke Divya Padchinh and the unveiling of a replica of the Shri Ram Stambh. The VHP said the book presents the values, ideals and cultural influence associated with Lord Ram.
The organisers also announced the digital launch of Shri Ram Stambhs to be installed along the Ram Van-gaman Path in Ayodhya district. The statement described the initiative as an effort to connect people with places associated with Lord Ram’s journey.
RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale spoke about Singhal’s commitment to his decisions and his ability to turn his convictions into organised action, according to the statement. Swami Paramanand Giri called on those present to contribute to the country’s progress.
The ceremony began with a conch invocation and Vedic chanting by 100 ritwiks. An exhibition of photographs, documents and other material traced Singhal’s life, organisational work and role in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, the VHP said.
