New Delhi: The Delhi Government has approved declaring nearly 1,000 additional acres of the Southern Ridge as reserved forest, a move it says will take the Capital’s notified Ridge area to about 13,000 acres.
According to the government, the expanded protection will support native species, ecological restoration of degraded areas and afforestation. The announcement presents the decision as a measure to strengthen the Ridge’s biodiversity and environmental balance.
The details were released by the Delhi Government through its official X account.
