New Delhi, June 3: Amid the chaos, panic and heartbreak of the devastating fire at Lemon Green Restaurant in Hauz Rani, Malviya Nagar, stories of extraordinary courage emerged as ordinary citizens and Delhi Police personnel risked their own lives to save others trapped inside the burning building.
Five local residents — Afzal, Mohammad Shahrukh, Mohammad Aneesh, Mohammad Aamir and Mohammad Wasim — along with five Delhi Police personnel — Head Constable Dinesh, Head Constable Kartar Singh, Head Constable Deshraj, Head Constable Ajay and Head Constable Meena — displayed exceptional bravery during the rescue operation.
As flames engulfed the restaurant and terrified people struggled to escape, these ten individuals rushed into action without waiting for help or thinking about their own safety. Despite the dangerous conditions and thick smoke, they worked tirelessly to rescue those trapped inside.
Witnesses said the rescuers helped bring several victims out of the building and provided immediate assistance in the crucial moments after they were rescued. Some of them even performed CPR on victims who were unconscious, giving them a fighting chance until medical teams arrived.
What makes their actions even more remarkable is that several of the rescuers themselves sustained injuries during the operation. Yet they continued helping others, putting humanity above personal safety.
In a tragedy that claimed multiple lives and left many injured, the courage shown by these citizens and police personnel stood out as a powerful reminder of selflessness and community spirit.
