New Delhi: Former US President Donald Trump has congratulated Taranjit Singh Sandhu on his appointment as the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, praising his diplomatic experience and contribution to India–US relations.
In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said, “Congratulations to Taranjit Sandhu on becoming the new Lt Governor of Delhi! As a seasoned diplomat and former Ambassador to the United States, he has always shown deep commitment to strengthening the U.S.-India relationship. Wishing him success in leading Delhi’s progress and furthering global ties!”
Sandhu, a former Indian Ambassador to the United States, has had a distinguished diplomatic career and is widely regarded for his role in enhancing bilateral ties between India and the US during his tenure.
The message from Trump comes as Sandhu assumes office as Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor, with expectations of strengthening governance and international engagement.
