New Delhi: In a major breakthrough, the Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) of Delhi Police’s Outer North District has arrested a wanted gangster linked to the Sonu Dariyapur gang in connection with a firing case.
The accused, identified as Aryan (22), a resident of Prahladpur Bangar in Delhi, was apprehended near Jeet Farm on Narela-Alipur Road. He had been absconding since March 19, 2026, after allegedly opening fire in the Sultanpuri police station area.

Acting on a secret input received on March 30, a dedicated AATS team tracked and intercepted the accused. During the operation, police recovered one .32 bore pistol along with two live cartridges from his possession.
A case has been registered under the Arms Act at Narela Industrial Area Police Station, and the accused has been formally arrested.
Police said Aryan has a criminal background and was previously involved in two other cases under the Arms Act.
During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to his involvement in the recent firing incident targeting a rival Arun Delhi gang member in Sultanpuri. While other accused in the case had already been arrested, Aryan had managed to evade capture until now.
Investigators further revealed that he was planning to procure more weapons, carry out additional criminal activities, and recruit more youth into the Sonu Dariyapur gang.
Delhi Police officials said the operation highlights their proactive policing and intelligence-based surveillance, reaffirming their commitment to dismantling organised criminal networks and ensuring public safety in the national capital.
Further investigation is underway.
