Summer Special Train Between Kanpur and Bengaluru Announced to Ease Passenger Rush

New Delhi/Bengaluru: To manage the surge in passenger traffic during the summer season, North Central Railway has announced a weekly special train service between Kanpur Central and SMVT Bengaluru.

Train No. 04131 (Kanpur Central – SMVT Bengaluru Weekly Special) will depart from Kanpur Central every Sunday at 4:30 PM, starting from April 5, 2026, to July 12, 2026, and will reach SMVT Bengaluru at 6:30 PM on the third day (Tuesday).

In the return direction, Train No. 04132 (SMVT Bengaluru – Kanpur Central Weekly Special) will leave SMVT Bengaluru every Wednesday at 7:10 AM, from April 8, 2026, to July 15, 2026, arriving at Kanpur Central at 3:45 AM on the third day (Friday).

The train will halt at multiple key stations including Fatehpur, Prayagraj Junction, Satna, Katni Junction, Itarsi Junction, Nagpur, Balharshah, Warangal, Vijayawada Junction, Nellore, Renigunta Junction, Katpadi Junction, Jolarpettai Junction, Bangarapet Junction, and Krishnarajapuram, among others.

The special train will comprise 23 coaches, including 9 General Second Class, 9 Sleeper Class, 2 AC 3-tier, 1 AC 2-tier, and 2 SLR/D coaches.

Railway officials said the introduction of this service is aimed at providing additional travel options and reducing congestion on existing routes during the peak holiday season.
