New Delhi: In a major anti-corruption crackdown, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Deputy Commissioner and an Administrative Officer of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Shahdara North Zone, in connection with a bribery case involving ₹4 lakh.
According to the CBI, the case was registered on March 30, 2026, against the Administrative Officer, who allegedly demanded illegal gratification on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner. The bribe was sought from complainants in exchange for forwarding an inquiry report in their favour to the competent authority.

Acting swiftly on the complaint, the CBI laid a trap and caught the Administrative Officer red-handed while demanding and accepting the bribe amount of ₹4 lakh. During the subsequent investigation, the alleged involvement of the Deputy Commissioner also came to light.
Both accused officials have been formally arrested, the agency confirmed.
The CBI stated that further investigation is underway to establish the full extent of the conspiracy and identify any additional individuals involved in the case.
Reiterating its commitment to curbing corruption, the agency urged citizens to report instances of bribery or misconduct by public officials.
