Delhi Encounter: 2 Vicky Sanyasi Gang Operatives Linked to Nandu Gang Arrested After Firing on Police

Date:

New Delhi: In a major breakthrough, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested two alleged members of the Vinod @ Vicky Sanyasi Gang, which is reportedly linked to the Kapil Sangwan @ Nandu Gang, following a brief encounter near UER-II.

According to police officials, the accused were involved in a recent incident under Bindapur police station limits, where gunshots were fired at a businessman’s office in an alleged attempt to pressure him into a land settlement dispute.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, Crime Branch teams intercepted the suspects near UER-II. During the chase, the accused allegedly opened fire at the police team, prompting retaliatory action. One of the accused sustained injuries during the exchange of fire and was taken into custody.

Police recovered two pistols, live cartridges, empty shells, and a Honda Activa scooter allegedly used in the crime. Preliminary investigation revealed that the scooty had been snatched and used by the accused for reconnaissance before executing the firing incident.

The operation was led by Inspector Pawan Kumar under the supervision of ACP Bhagwati Prasad and overall guidance of DCP Harsh Indora.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain the gang’s wider network, possible involvement in other extortion cases, and links with organised criminal syndicates operating in the National Capital Region.
