New Delhi: Panic gripped Rohini after a man was shot dead in what police suspect could be a fallout of the long-standing rivalry between the Tillu Tajpuria and Gogi gangs.
The incident occurred on Saturday evening in Rohini Sector 17, where assailants allegedly opened fire on Sahil, killing him on the spot. Police teams rushed to the scene and launched an immediate investigation.
Preliminary findings suggest that Sahil was allegedly associated with the Gogi gang and had recently been released from jail. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the area, which reportedly indicates that the shooters may have links to the rival Tillu Tajpuria gang.
Delhi has witnessed a prolonged and violent feud between the two gangs, with more than 50 killings linked to their rivalry over the years. Gogi gang leader Jitender Gogi was shot dead inside the Rohini court complex, while Tillu Tajpuria was killed inside Tihar Jail. Despite the deaths of both gang leaders, the enmity between their networks is believed to persist.
Police officials said multiple teams have been formed to trace and arrest the attackers. The case is being investigated from all possible angles, including gang rivalry and past criminal history.
The fresh killing has once again raised concerns over gang violence in the national capital, as authorities intensify their efforts to prevent further escalation.
