New Delhi: The Delhi Police have launched a massive coordinated offensive against organised crime under the banner “Gang Bust 2026”, conducting raids at over 4,000 locations across Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, officials said on Monday.
The large-scale operation was carried out jointly by Delhi Police Law & Order Zones, the Crime Branch, and the Special Cell, targeting more than 10 active criminal gangs operating across state borders.
According to an official statement, over 6,500 suspects were questioned, leading to the arrest of 854 criminals involved in a wide range of serious offences, including arms trafficking, drug peddling, bootlegging and gambling.

- Arms Act:
- 300 accused arrested
- 122 pistols, 129 live cartridges, 188 knives seized
- ₹15 lakh+ cash and two two-wheelers recovered
- NDPS Act:
- 43 drug traffickers arrested
- Large quantities of illegal narcotics seized
- ₹14 lakh+ cash recovered
- Delhi Excise Act:
- 152 bootleggers arrested
- 28,364 quarters of illicit liquor seized
- ₹23,500 cash and four vehicles confiscated
- Gambling Operations:
- 285 gamblers arrested
- Other Crimes:
- 74 additional offenders taken into custody for various criminal activities
Senior police officials said the operation was aimed at disrupting organised crime networks, cutting off financial channels, and restoring public safety through pre-emptive and intelligence-driven policing.
Delhi Police reiterated that similar multi-agency crackdowns will continue in the coming months as part of its zero-tolerance policy against organised crime.
