New Delhi: A horrific triple murder case has come to light from Laxmi Nagar in East Delhi, where a 26-year-old man, identified as Yashveer Singh, allegedly killed his mother, sister and minor brother inside their home.
According to police, the accused first administered a poisonous substance to his family members, rendering them unconscious, before strangling them to death in the early hours of the morning, around 2 am.
Confirming the incident, DCP Abhishek Dhaniya said the accused himself walked into the Laxmi Nagar police station and confessed to the crime.
“A 26-year-old man named Yashveer reported at the police station that he had strangled three members of his family. Upon verification, our team reached the spot and found three dead bodies. Preliminary investigation suggests the accused was under severe financial stress and was mentally disturbed,” the DCP stated.
Police further revealed that Yashveer had attempted suicide multiple times in the past, indicating prolonged mental health issues. Investigators believe these failed suicide attempts, combined with mounting financial hardship, may have triggered the violent act.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and the accused is currently being interrogated to determine the exact sequence of events and the source of the poisonous substance used.
The brutal killings have left residents of the area in a state of shock and fear, with neighbours describing the family as reclusive and struggling financially. Police say further legal action will follow based on forensic and medical reports.
