New Delhi: Delhi Police’s Special Cell has cracked a Pakistan-backed international and interstate gangster-turned-terror module, arresting three operatives involved in multiple planned attacks across North India.
Additional CP (Special Cell) Pramod Kumar Kushwaha confirmed that the module was being run by Pakistan-based handler Shahzad Bhatti, a notorious gangster now working on behalf of Pakistan’s intelligence agency.

Gurdaspur Police Station Grenade Attack Executed by This Module
According to the Special Cell:
- The arrested men include
- Hargunpreet Singh (Punjab)
- Vikas Prajapati (Datia, Madhya Pradesh)
- Arif (Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh)
This same team threw a hand grenade outside the Gurdaspur City Police Station on 25th (month).
Delhi Police says the trio executed the attack under Bhatti’s direction.
Multiple Targets Identified After Videography and Recce
Investigators found that the module had:
- Conducted videography of several locations
- Done recce across North India
- Prepared to launch multiple grenade attacks
Pakistani handler Shahzad Bhatti gave direct instructions from abroad, recruiting young operatives via social media apps and personal contacts.
Delhi Police says more members of this network have been identified, and their links will be shared with Punjab Police for coordinated action.
Weapon and Digital Evidence Seized
Additional CP Kushwaha revealed key recoveries:
- One pistol with 10 live cartridges from accused Vikas Prajapati
- Electronic evidence, including
- Recce videos
- Encrypted chats
- Voice notes
- Digital communication with the Pakistan-based handler
Police say these digital trails provide a clear operational link between the accused and Pakistan’s terror network.
Nationwide Crackdown Expected
The Special Cell confirmed that one or two remaining members linked to this module will be arrested soon.
The case is now expanding into a multi-state terror investigation in coordination with Punjab Police and central agencies.
