New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its 12 candidates for the upcoming Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) by-elections, scheduled to be held on November 30, 2025. With this, the BJP joins the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress, both of which had already revealed their lists earlier.
Under the leadership of Delhi BJP chief Rekha Gupta, the party finalized its candidate list on the last day of nominations, aiming to reclaim key wards lost in the previous MCD elections. Announcing the decision on social media platform X, Delhi BJP stated, “Following the guidance of our senior leadership, we are pleased to declare BJP candidates for the upcoming MCD bypolls 2025.”
The party has fielded:
- Jaipal Singh Darral from Mundka,
- Anita Jain from Shalimar Bagh-B Ward,
- Veena Asija from Ashok Vihar,
- Suman Kumar Gupta from Chandni Chowk,
- Sunil Sharma from Chandni Mahal,
- Manisha Rajpal Sehrawat from Dwarka-B,
- Rekha Rani from Dichau Kalan,
- Chandrakanta Shivani from Naraina,
- Rohini Raj from Dakshin Puri,
- Shubhrajit Gautam from Sangam Vihar-A,
- Anjum Mandal from Greater Kailash, and
- Sarla Chaudhary from Vinod Nagar.

The BJP’s move came just a day after the Congress released its candidate list on November 10, and the AAP, under Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, declared its nominees on November 9.

With all three major parties now fully geared up, the battle for Delhi’s civic control is set to intensify. Political observers believe these bypolls will serve as a litmus test for all three parties ahead of the next full-fledged municipal and assembly elections.
The MCD bypoll results will be declared on December 3, 2025.
