Crime Branch Nabs Bail-Jumper in NDPS Case from Moti Nagar After Intensive Manhunt

Date:

New Delhi: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police (Eastern Range-II) has arrested a notorious narcotics offender, Raj Kumar alias Bulbul, who had jumped interim bail granted to him by the Delhi High Court in a drugs trafficking case (NDPS Act) registered at Narela Industrial Area Police Station.

According to officials, Raj Kumar, aged 40, was released on interim bail on September 8, 2025, for undergoing surgery. He was ordered to surrender at Rohini Jail by September 11, but instead went absconding and was hiding across multiple locations in Delhi and NCR, evading arrest for weeks.

Following inputs developed through technical surveillance and human intelligence, a team led by Inspector Umesh Sati, under the close supervision of ACP Kailash Chander, traced and arrested the accused from Moti Nagar, Delhi. The operation was executed by a dedicated team comprising SI Rahul, SI Brahampal, HC Vikash, and HC Sandeep.

Police said Raj Kumar is a habitual offender and has been previously involved in five major NDPS cases registered at various police stations including Lahori Gate, Crime Branch, Gulabi Bagh, Timarpur, and Narela Industrial Area.

Raj Kumar, a 10th-grade dropout, was reportedly living in Moti Bagh and Loni (Ghaziabad) under false identities to avoid being tracked.

Officials stated that his arrest marks a significant success in the ongoing crackdown on narcotics-related crimes and sends a clear message to habitual offenders attempting to misuse the bail system.

“The Crime Branch remains committed to ensuring that bail conditions are not abused and that drug offenders face the full course of justice,” said Vikram Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime-II).
