Man Fatally Stabbed Over Rs 2,000 Loan in Northeast Delhi; Accused, His Brother, and Father Arrested

Date:

New Delhi: A 23-year-old man was fatally stabbed in the Jafrabad area of northeast Delhi early Thursday, allegedly over a dispute concerning a ₹2,000 loan. The Delhi Police have arrested three persons in connection with the murder — the primary accused, his elder brother, and their father.

According to officials, the incident occurred around 12:10 a.m. when Fardeen, the victim, confronted Adil, who had previously borrowed the money. Adil, in a fit of rage, allegedly pulled out a knife and attacked Fardeen and his friend Javed, before fleeing the scene.

Fardeen was rushed to JPC Hospital by his father but was declared dead upon arrival.

“Initial investigations suggest that Adil’s elder brother Kamil and their father Shakeel were present during the altercation and instigated the attack,” a senior police official said. Forensic teams have collected evidence from the scene.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Following swift action, police arrested Adil (30), Kamil (28), and Shakeel (58), who reportedly confessed to their involvement. The murder weapon was also recovered.

Police records indicate Adil was previously involved in three criminal cases, while Kamil has been named in four. The investigation is ongoing to determine further details and possible motives beyond the monetary dispute.
