Empowerment Camp Distributes Tricycles and Assistive Aids to Divyangjans in Delhi

Date:

New Delhi: The Delhi government is taking decisive steps to empower persons with disabilities (Divyangjans), announcing plans to streamline the process of issuing medical certificates to ensure timely access to necessary documentation. This commitment was underscored by Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh at a Social Empowerment Camp held at the BJP State Headquarters, where tricycles and other essential assistive devices were distributed free of charge.

Minister Singh highlighted the government’s dedication to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Empowered Divyang, Capable India,’ emphasizing its commitment to fostering self-reliance among persons with disabilities.

He stated that high-quality assistive devices are being provided in collaboration with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO). To expand its reach and ensure that no eligible individual is left behind, the Social Welfare Department will launch monthly distribution camps across Delhi, commencing next month.

“Starting next month, these camps will be organized on the 10th of every month in various districts, allowing eligible residents from any part of the city to participate and receive crucial benefits,” Minister Singh announced.

This proactive initiative aims to guarantee that all eligible individuals are included in and benefit from the government’s welfare schemes, ensuring a more inclusive and equitable society.
