Delhi Assembly to Hold Two-Day Session on May 13, Focus on Education and Governance

Date:

NEW DELHI: A two-day session of the Delhi Assembly is set to take place on May 13, according to officials. This session will focus on important legislation, including the Delhi School Education Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees Bill, 2025, which aims to regulate private school fees.

The draft Bill was approved by the Delhi Cabinet on April 29, with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasizing the need for a special assembly session to pass it. The Bill proposes strict penalties and the cancellation of school registrations for unauthorized fee hikes or student harassment.

The second part of the budget session of the Eighth Legislative Assembly is scheduled to begin on May 13, 2025, at 2 pm in the Assembly Hall at the Old Secretariat in Delhi. This follows the first part of the budget session that began on March 24, during which Chief Minister Gupta presented her inaugural budget.

Gupta’s budget for 2025-26 has an outlay of Rs 1 lakh crore, representing a significant 31.5% increase from the previous year. This upcoming session promises to be a crucial event in shaping the future of education and governance in Delhi.
