Delhi Budget: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Presents Budget of 1 Lakh Crore

NEW DELHI: In a historic announcement, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta unveiled her first budget, outlining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government’s ten key focus areas. These areas include infrastructure development, water management, electricity provision, and road development. She Presented Budget of ₹1 Lakh Crore. This marked a significant 31.5 percent increase from the previous year.

Gupta described the Budget as a historic milestone, emphasizing the government’s dedication to eliminating corruption and inefficiency. Notably, capital expenditure has been doubled to Rs 28,000 crore, demonstrating a strong emphasis on infrastructure development, including roads, sewer systems, and water supply.

The Budget outlines ten key areas of focus, such as electricity, roads, water, and connectivity. A notable allocation of Rs 1,000 crore has been designated for improving transport links within Delhi-NCR.

In a move aimed at enhancing welfare, Rs 5,100 crore has been set aside to provide eligible women with Rs 2,500 per month. Additionally, Rs 2,144 crore has been allocated to strengthen healthcare services in the capital through the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.

Overall, the budget reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing the city’s infrastructure and essential services, setting the stage for continued growth and development in Delhi.

This Budget is a significant moment as it is the first presented by a BJP-led government in Delhi in over 26 years, following the party’s victory over the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in last month’s Assembly elections.
